Hello everyone. I am reading a profoundly disturbing book for my history of the Holocaust class, which I have a test for in about 3 hours. Hitler was one sick fuck. I mean, we all know that already, but studying him this much in depth was something I really never wanted to do. Although some guy in this book called Hitler a "raw vegetable Genghis Khan," which I found highly amusing. Yuck. Tests suck. Sorry I couldn't chat more last night, minna san. Hopefully I'll be able to tonight or something, if everyone gets together again. I had to study for this test, and I still have more studying to do. I just thought I would take a break from it for awhile. S, I hope everything is ok with you! I haven't heard from you in awhile. What's going on w/ you and Jeff? Are you guys cool now? Anne, I haven't heard from you yet about the weekend of the 23rd, but I really need to know. *grin* No pressure. But seriously, my mother called me about something going on that weekend, and she needs to know what I am doing then. It's still fine if you and Sarah H. want to come then, I just have to know soon. Ok, I have had it!! It is freaking snowing AGAIN!! I am SO bloody sick of snow. It is past Christmas, therefore snow should no longer be falling. Not until next December. I mean, I love it, it's gorgeous... but, but, but... It's cold! And wet! And yucky b/c it turns all slushy and muddy in a day and it keeps the pretty flowers from coming out of hiding and making me genki. *pout* Ok, I think I have ranted enough. *giggle* Ger, I checked your blog this morning. S, have you checked the club recently? Just curious b/c I didn't talk to you all weekend. Like my new layout? *grin* And Anne-girl, thanks for calling last night! Hey everyone. Obviously, I made a new layout in celebration of that much hated "holiday" that is coming up soon. Incidently, that is the date last year that I started writing a Yohji fic that I haven't finished. *sweat drop* This weekend was really great! (With the exception of the fact that I haven't caught up on all that homework I meant to catch up on...) My roomie and I and my friend Ara chan finally found a place to live next year!! Yay! It is a townhouse in a complex called Woodridge. It's a 3 bedroom and it's got all kinds of cool shit included in it. We are very excited about it. No more dorm life for us. *And the angels sang.* Of course, upon hearing about it, my parents decided to come down to look at it, so they were here today. They approved. Laurel chan, thanks for inviting me into the chat the other day. I really had a good time. ^_^ I hope my schedule will chill out for enough time that we can really chat sometime soon. *sigh* My parents bought a new car. A 2000 silver Expedition. *rolls eyes* I hate SUV's. Welcome to Suburbia. My parents always pull this weird stuff. Everytime I come home, my dad has bought a new toy. Last year he bought a Mazda Miata, which is an admittedly cute litttle convertible car, red w/ a CD player and a manual transmission, but it gets a little tiresome after awhile. Last time I went home, they had bought a new camera, this time a new BAC, which is a term that my mother uses to describe this car. (BAC= Big Ass Car). Anyway, I am going to go try to do some more homework. Mata ne!
Ok, I finished the paper, and I think it didn't turn out too badly. I think. -_-;; Anyway, I got about 2 hours of sleep, so I am totally exhausted. Today was crazy- I finished my paper, went to Japanese, went to work, left work early to turn in aforementioned paper, went to appointment at the School of Education... it was a really long appointment. I was scheduled for half an hour, and I ended up staying for an hour and a half. I was checking out the requirements for getting a teaching certification on my Japanese major, and possibly even my history major. I won't bore you with details, but let's say it will be a bitch. Yet I am actually considering it... Ok, I admit it. I am an overachiever. It is SO cold here today. I am not exaggerating. The high was 7. As in seven degrees F. It went from 37 to 7 in the course of 6 hours. And even though the sky was clear last night, and it was gorgeous and sunny today, it managed to snow SOMEWHERE in that 6 hours. Damned weather. And of course because it was sunny, and today HAPPENED to be Feb. 2, the freaking groundhog saw his shadow and we are doomed for extra six weeks of winter. I hate that little rodent. Too bad I missed the chat last night. ;_; I was busy writing about Goethe's portrayal of Christianity in Faust. So thrilling, I am sure you can imagine. I think I am going to go take a nap before my toes freeze and break off. *yawns* Oyasumi minna! Have a fun Friday night!
I am in the middle of writing this absolutely horrendous paper on Geothe's Faust, both part one and part two. I am supposed to write 5 pages on the religious significance of the main theme, etc. I am about to pull my hair out. I have written about 1 and 1/4 pages, and it's due in a little over 12 hours. I am so, so screwed. Anyway, tomorrow... um, today... is Friday! After I finish this damned paper, I will be home free!! Well, sort of... this has been a crazy week, and next week promises more of the same. I can make a documentary! "A Day in the Life of Jen". It would make everyone very tired after about 20 minutes b/c it would be boring and ridiculously busy. I have been DYING to read the rest of the story, but she hasn't finished it yet!! (Turn is her Tomoyo/ Eriol CCS fic. It is SO good.) Today was... um, interesting. I skipped all of my classes today (I know, I know, bad Jen) b/c I have been so behind that I needed a day to catch up. I am part-way caught up, but I am going to have to finish more stuff on Saturday. However, the day was not totally wasted. Not only did I get a little work done ^_^;;;, but I also decided to apply for a summer RA job, so I can have free room and board during summer school, and I wrote my app essay. I also called a bunch of apartment places, to get prices and set up tour times. With any luck, we should have a lease for fall by next week. AND I went to the Office of Overseas studies to pick up info for my roomie, since she never has time to get over there herself. She wants to study abroad in Scotland. While I was there, I picked up more info on Japan. Hey, why not, ne? I am almost positive that I am going to be able to go *tries to surpress excitement w/ little luck*, but it never hurts to have more info. Brandy said 'Don't make me call you an overachiever!' Kowai, ne? Anyway, I have to go write that rather long stupid paper for H212 on Faust, which I have been avoiding all week. It's due on Friday. Yuck. Mata ne!
Weird... pitas didn't work earlier. I was going to post at about 5, but it would not open. Anyway, this has been yet another hectic day. I can't believe how much I want this semester over, already. It's only th 4th week of classes. I have a paper due on Friday that I haven't even started yet. *sigh* I loved Gattaca. It was very beautifully made. I finally got the copy of Before Sunrise I ordered awhile ago in the mail today. Now that movie is the most perfect movie I have ever seen. No fancy shit, no overdramatized acting, no overdeveloped plot... nothing but raw emotion and a real, beautiful day. I love it. My roommate is brooding again, which is always depressing. *sigh* I love her but that drives me crazy. Oh well. Some people are just like that. Hello everyone. I would like to state that I really hate Mondays. They suck. Anyway, today was so tiring and hectic, that I just want to go to bed but I am faced w/ a ton of homework. Not cool at all. I have a throbbing headache. At least the snow is melting. It actually warmed up to about 47 or so this afternoon, and it started to rain. My roomie and I went apartment hunting tonight, which would have been fun, but b/c it was pitch black and rainy, not to mention the fact that pedestrians kept jumping in front of the car... *sigh* So obnoxious. But we did find some cool places that we want to check out more in depth. I am going to go drool at Ethan Hawke now. I checked Gattaca out of the library, which has both good and bad sides. Good- Ethan Hawke. *nosebleeds* Bad- Uma Thurmond. (He married that slut!! ACK! And they have a CHILD!! *shudder*) Also Bad- I have a shit load of homework to catch up on, that I am not going to be doing... at least not right now. S, I am sorry your day went to shit. Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was fun... with the exception of the damned snow. I don't want anymore freaking snow. I want spring. Anyway, I went home Saturday and my friend Juli came with me *waves*. We had fun. We watched the entire Black Rose arc of Utena and Mononoke hime on DVD and made vegan chocolate chip cookies w/ a recipe that I found on the net. That recipe totally kicks ass. I was excited b/c the Generals' Love fic site posted my Makoto/ Nephy fic that I wrote awhile ago. It was a songfic to Glay's Winter, Again. If anyone is interested in reading it, the link is here. I was excited b/c it was the first fic that I have ever submitted to an archive, and it was excepted! I haven't gotten any reviews on it, but she also just added it, and hasn't updated her updates page yet. ^_^;; Laurel chan, I hope you got my b-day message.
